I am the owner of a home care agency that specializes in dementia care. I contacted Carolyn Rosenblatt, RN-Attorney and mediator, for help with a particularly complex case that involved a demented businessman who was still going to the workplace. His behavior there had become problematic, and the family was stuck on how to move forward.
The major challenge was that individual family members did not trust each other, yet they had to act together because of the way the legal paperwork had been drafted. I had little hope that anybody could help these family members resolve their issues, but I knew we needed to try. Ms. Rosenblatt worked directly with the family members and their advisors to develop a plan that they each bought into.
Frankly, I was amazed at how skillfully she brought the parties together over a series of meetings. The outcome was even more impressive. The elder was helped to end his appearances at work and retire gracefully.
Tender Rose was then able to provide 24-hour care for the elder in his home by our Memory Care Professionals. Ms. Rosenblatt, together with her husband and partner, Dr. Davis were invaluable in helping all involved through this difficult transition. With their help, the quality of life for both the elder and his family members improved dramatically. Without their help, I’m convinced the situation would have continued to spiral out of control.
