“An incredible tool for elder care” 2009-07-07
By Dvorah Stoll (NYC, NY)
This book is superb! Carolyn Rosenblatt has created an excellent road map that is a wonderful resource for the Baby Boomer in caring for an aging parent or loved one. Boomers are facing a new challenge of dealing with aging parents and there are TONS of things to figure out from Medicare, to power of attorney, in home care to choosing a nursing home. An excellent chapter devoted to ways to approach the very sensitive issue of driving helps you to ease into a discussion that is probably inevitable. Carolyn offers practical advise on dealing with family conflicts, to how to find a good lawyer, to standing up in the healthcare system for your loved one to tips on handling your loved one’s financial affairs.
I found this book to be invaluable and an insightful comprehensive guide for this Baby Boomer to aid me in my caring for an aging loved one.

“Worth taking a look” 2009-06-28
By Susan L. Morale
In a review of Carolyn’s book, I am immediately reminded of the myriad of problems that surface when one realizes the parent or loved one has changed. Often in this demanding world in when we live and work, we might not be as adept at addressing the needs of a failing parent, as those involved in elder care and protection on a daily basis, as in a nurse/lawyer. Carolyn has landed on the issue directly impacting some us boomers in the most basic way: our aging parents and loved ones in need. As a nurse /lawyer myself, I found the book an insightful comprehensive guide to aid in this kind of care.

“Great guide for that combines legal and clinical insights” 2009-06-16
By Tessa ten Tusscher (San Francisco, CA, USA)
This is a really practical step-by-step guide for family members or friends who are caring for their aging loved-ones. It takes you through all the problems – from stopping driving to advocating for your parent when they are hospitalized. Carolyn Rosenblatt brings both her legal knowledge (she was a litigator for many years before finding her soul in aging) and her nursing background to provide a truly unique persepective.
I could not recommend this more highly!

“Timely, important, and helpful” 2009-05-31
By Donna N. Berry
This book is for those who are finding themselves in a place they may have never expected to be: responsible wholly, or in part for the care and or welfare of their parents. The Baby Boomer generation is running head-on into another milepost of life: aging parents. Many have had only superficial contact with the day-to-day realities of becoming caregivers to adults. Many have been entitled. And many have been fortunate in finding great careers. Now, faced with the conundrum of reaching retirement in a suddenly unreliable economic environment, co-incidently with their own parents, Boomers have a new set of issues with their parents. Carolyn Rosenblatt’s book is informative and supportive in helping with decision-making that is too often difficult. Practical advice will answer questions and direct the search for optimal solutions. Carolyn’s personal and professional background are exceptional credentials for providing this guide to present and future caregivers. As a professional in Healthcare and an advocate for safe, meaningful and dignified care for our Elders, I recommend this book with confidence. The format of the book is convenient, offering topic choices in individual books so that the reader can access specific subjects, and is available in Kindle.
